In using Connection Wizard to establish a dial-up connection I go through the steps to the point where I should be able to select between dialup and broadband; but, only the broadband selection is available. The dialup selection is inactive. I've re-loaded Windows XP, but that didn't fix it. My modem is working properly. Any ideas?

This is what usually happens http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];329441 if you can't reinstallSP1 then the workaround is what you want to do.

You will have to navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP\EAP and delete the folders numbered 25 & 26, then reboot and your problem will be fixed.

Good! I don't know why that happens a bunch in XP. Maybe they will work on a way to fix that glitch.
