    Hi I have two machines running on a standard workgroup type network. Both XP PRO and both run the main account with administers rights and no main password.
    I have been following this site about using a little program called Poweroff 3013
    to enable limited remote control of my main desktop with my laptop. I have successfully used a program call WakeOnLan to turn my machine on, but when I use the above poweroff to powerdown or restart my machine I get the following message...

    connect(): Connection refused (10061)

    I have tried disabling Online Armor (windows firewall is disabled) and poweroff settings have been saved to services.

    I have no problems accessing either machine (shared folders and files that is) and I have simple sharing enabled...

    I cannot see what else I might have missed?

    Olly.

    Hi yes this is the first thing I did and have just gone back to double check - I am struggling to relate some of the answers to my problem as they are either dealing with vnc thingys (is this what I am doing?) or different software entirely.
    Could this be my router?
