My version of OE is 6. Can anyone tell me if I have missed something in the OE that would force a pop up telling me that "no connection to the internet is currently available. To view internet content that has been saved on your computer, click work offline." Under this is the comment click again to connect and under that is two boxes one listed [work offline] and the other [try again]. This will pop up after about 4 min. after I disconnect my dial up and defaults to a check mark in MS7IE tools drop down cascade next to work offline without any action from me. Then when I want to restart dial up IE7 will not go to the address entered because of the check mark. After I remove the check mark IE7 will launch. Am using total access from earthlink for my primary, but, that is operating on top of OE. Have posted this in another area of BBS with no reaction.

I’m guessing that you have OE checking for messages every 4 minutes or so AND IE7 set to "˜Never Dial a Connection’.

If so either change IE7 setting "“ but imagine that could be annoying with Dial Up.

Or in OE Tools- Options- General tab
If "˜check for new message every xx minutes is checked’ THEN change "˜If my computer is not connected at this time:’ to Connect only when not working offline. OR you can simply uncheck "˜Check for messages--------‘
May want to also uncheck "˜Send and receive messages at startup’.

Instead send and receive msgs manually using the tools menu whenever connected.
