I have a wireless system in my house and would to install a wireless print server which has 4 ports for network wires. I have a laptop that communicates wirelessly with my network and was thinking of connecting it to the print server, using the network card in my laptop, to help set up the print server so it can communicate with my wireless router. Can this be a problem if one computer is on a network 2 different ways?
I also have a desktop that I could use instead to avoid the double connection, but it seems like an interesting question.

Likely the recommendation is to configure the device with a wired connection. This is usally the case with wireless routers and wireless access points as well.

There is no technical issue posed by this connection. You likely will find that given a choice of interfaces for daily use your wired connection is considerably faster.

For printer sharing devices you should investigate whether your printer is supported by the device. Many printers cannot be used with network print sharing devices; usually because a portion of the printer rendering engine is expected to be done in software on the host computer for the device.
