I am uncertain as my present computer specifications are sufficient to install Windows 10 Pro, clean install?

Steve thanks for your response, and I may go for Windows 10 either Home or Pro. edition, that no doubt will require further and careful thought. The caption that you included does not open properly and previously to receiving your response, tried Microsoft Website and this also produced black squares and writing below each squares. Thanks.

BobbyScot, though your system may be able to handle Win 10 but its an old system. MS is not very clear and forth coming about its meaning of "lifetime of system ". I don't know know how Win 10 would react if your hard disk/mother board goes belly up & have to be replaced.

rsinfo, I fully appreciate in what you say but it could happen with any computer what ever age of motherboard being replaced, as to whether other components react to a replacement board. As you say, it is a gamble and be prepared to take. For ordinary day working computer, is choice "Home" or "Pro" be the best choice, as it roughly shows price difference of $80 (£60), between the versions.

Win 10 Professional will give you more control over what updates are downloaded and installed by Microsoft. You will also have access to Group Policy Editor. With Win 10 Home not as much control, if any over what is downloaded and installed by Microsoft and no Group Policy Editor access.

I have W 7 but not installed as for some reason unknown, it installs corrupted. Reason for reverting back to factory setting, Vista.
At present right or wrong, all Microsoft updates are installed each month, but as you say, at present I have the choice of install or not install. Group Policy Editor is a new ball game to me or what it entails. Thanks to last responses.
