I am remotely accessing a wired network of 4 XP Pro computers online without any problem but none of the computers can access a web page either through IE or Firefox. It happened yesterday afternoon to all machines.

    • The modem, router (Linksys WRT160Nv3) and all computers have been restarted
    • cleared the cache, etc.
    • I have run AV scan - clean
    • run Malwarebytes - clean
    • I can ping anything successfully from a C:\ prompt
    • as indicated in other posts here and elsewhere, IE 8 has not recently been installed
I ran Network diagnostics and looked at the log file. I have included it here for reference
    Also
I am at a loss here so any suggestions are eagerly welcomed.
    Thanks

Looks like the diagnostics had it.
    It’s a DNS issue.

    The ipconfig/all looks great..
Even have alternate DNS servers plugged in for the computer.

However Router at 192.168.1.1 is primary choice.
It’s probably set to get it’s DNS IP addresses automatically.
If it fails the computers alternates don’t always work.

Manually plug the DNS server IP addresses into the Router.

When I log into the router I am getting a WiFi Protected Setup window which locks me out of the router settings because it hangs at 99%. To work around it I disabled page style in Firefox but when I look at the DHCP Client Table all other machines are listed with their own IP Address.

I am thinking a factory reset of the router may be in order - firmware is up to date
