i've got this problem where my comp restarts without warning. it seems to happen when i try to do to much on startup. i just bought a new power supply, so maybe my problem is that one of the unused 4 pin connectors is too close to the metal frame, thus shorting the system. i dunno.

has anyone had this problem? oh the restarts aren't always limited to startup, but that's when it frequently happens.

Since you are using XP, you probably aren't getting a blue screen before it restarts. This will usually show what error you are getting.

    Right-click My Computer
    click properties
    Advanced tab
    Startup and Recovery
    uncheck Automatic reboot

Or something to this effect. I have 2000 so it may be alittle different. I walked someone through it who used XP so I don't think it's much different.

This will at least give you an error message next time it happens, and maybe I can go from there.
