My HP Pavillion Slimline with Windows 7 Home OS continuously shuts down and ussually restarts. I have completed all of the diagnostics and all were good. I replaced the power supply, reset the RAM and turned off the power saving modes. It shuts down in safe mode as well. It has been doing this since I purchased. I am ussually in Web Builder, a Yahoo Program, MS Excel 2007, Quickbooks 2010, Quicken 2010 or Internet Explorer. Any suggestions?

Hi Muzikluvr, welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Is it still under warranty? If so (and you haven't already broken it) return to supplier.

Failing that, run windows memory diagnostics and report back with results.

I ran the memory and motherboard diagnostics and they both passed.

Also HP has not offered to replace the computer. They had me troubleshoot and then I took it to an HP certified dealer to replace the power supply and reset the RAM. This is very inconvenient and I was trying to avoid having to take it back every time their solution has not worked. I waited a little to long to send it back after I purchased.

To be honest I'm loath to assist with this as it's an issue since new. If still under warranty I'd demand HP repair/replace the unit.

    Overheating?

Check out the CPU temps with CoreTemp

I've edited your thread title to better reflect your issue.

Thank you for the link. The Core temp at the top said 0.99.8 The Core 0 is 36C and Core 1 is 29C-34C. It is never warm and does not seem to be overheating. I am going to have to take it back and I have been told they will fix it or replace it, but it is a hassle I was trying to avoid. Thank you both for your help!

CPU temps are fine - I agree that your best bet is to return the unit - good luck :)
