I have a fairly new Dell Computer running Windows XP. All of a sudden it keeps freezing up, besides this I keep getting a "server is busy message" and in addition, I am not able to do an alt control delete (nothing happens when I do that) I know that there are quite a few problems here, but are they related and what can I do do fix them? Thanks for any help you can give me.

First, do some online virus scans. eTrust in my signature. Also

    RAV

    Housecall

Clean out spyware/malware with both Spybot and Ad-aware. Links also in sig. Install, immediately update and run, deleting all they find.

Do you have an up-to-date antivirus program? Firewall?

In XP, Control -Alt -Delete only brings up the task manager. If you want to shut down, you can do it from there.

When you say "freezing up ", what do you mean? Do you have keyboard and mouse response? Or just a delay in performing the task?

Are you running a network? What does the server is busy message look like, and when do you see it? Does it go away by itself?
