I am attempting to boot into windows XP and get an error message Explorer Exe application error. All the icons disapear and I am left with a blank screen It askes me to close or debug which makes no difference. I tried getting into safe mode but to no avail. Also last good configuration does not work either. Please advise how can overcome this problem. I am sure it is the result of some spyware hijack but i need to get into windows to remove it. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the work around as far as re-installing Windows XP. Everything went fine but now I have a problem with Internet explorer. It appears my IE was taken over by Secure HTL spyware. I searched the computer for that name and deleted everything. However, it is probably in my registry. How can I remove this bug. I cannot access the net to download adaware, etc.
