    Computer Freeze
Windows 98 Computer Freezes @ times only way to close running program is to do Ctrl +Alt & Delete thing. No particular program sometimes same program runs OK. Windows Media player every time freezes computer. Only way to close this is turn computer off. Get blue screen with this. Troubleshooter screen blank when I open this then click subject. OS 98, ram 128, storage on HD 10 GB, free 62%. Does anyone have suggestions?
    :)

Get HijackThis, run it. Click on Config, click on Misc Tools, click on Generate StartupLog. It will open in Notepad. Copy and Paste on this thread.
It would not hurt to give Housecall, online AV scan a visit.

Paste it into a Reply on here, so I or others can get a look at what is starting up and maybe see the problem.
You can Copy out of Notepad and Paste on here, or you should be able to.
There is stuff hidden throughout, and this program will ferret them out.

You have spy/adware on your system. Gator is causing most of your freeze ups. You also have Ezula, this sometimes comes with Kazaa. I would recommend using Kazaa Lite, free.

Go get SpyBot Search & Destroy, it is free. Have it scan your system, and remove everything that shows up red. If Spybot asks to be allowed to run at next startup, allow it, and then reboot. It won't startup again by itself. It will then scan again as it cannot remove files that are in use. Again, remove what it finds in red.

Disable the following from starting up by going to Start\Run, type in Msconfig and press Enter. Click on Startup tab. Just uncheck them, the entries will not disappear, they just won't load at start.
CFD.exe is just a troubleshooter for your internet connection. Not needed to run all the time.
Winampa.exe maintains file associations for WinAmp, not needed at startup. Can be run manually when needed.
Hpgs2wnd.exe is for HP's Share to Web, not needed at startup. Can be run manually when needed.

This stuff with BART is apparently part of your internet connection, though you have Broadjump mentioned here. I would leave alone.

When all is done here, Restart in Dos Mode, and type in these commands at the prompt:
    smartdrv
    deltree c:\windows\cookies
    deltree c:\windows\history
    deltree c:\windows\temp
    deltree c:\windows\tempor~1
Press a Y that you want to delete, check the spelling at this time. This will clean out all temp files real good, those folders will be recreated upon bootup. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to do so when done.
Your system should be running much better after this.
