computer does not recognize SDHC card

    I recently purchased a SDHC memory card-16GB. I intend to use it to store picture files. However, my XP computer does not recognize the card. I inserted it in my card reader and nothing shows as being recognized. I assume there is something needed to update my computer. Or is the card reader not accepting it. Whatever, I would like some help as to my problem. Thanks.

    The most likely explanation is that your card reader does not recognise SDHC cards, only SDC cards. This is the case with older card readers made before SDHC cards became available.
