A client of mine has a 'TALON' PC with an infected version of XP Pro on a 250GB drive. He also has a 1.5TB empty drive and a 128GB 'CORSAIR SOLID STATE DRIVE' which he has asked me to install a Win7 Ultimate OEM version on. I have cleaned the XP Pro drive and removed it from the system. Everytime I put the Win7 DVD in the system, I just get a Boot CD: prompt and no 'Press any key to boot from CD: message. What am I doing wrong?

You may need to wait until the DVD spins up and then it will start to boot without any 'Press any key .....' intervention. Have you tried that?

Could try resetting the BIOS to defaults.

It seems that the DVD was defective and couldn't read the original Win7 disk. This was caused by a virus! Thank you for your help.
