I'm working on a laptop belonging to a friend. It has been set to "compress old files" when running disk cleanup. I believe there is a problem with some of these files (can't be deleted). Is there a way to uncompress?

Thanks Pete, that was quick. I'll try it tomorrow and post back with the result.

I went google on it too but didn't find that webpage. Anyway, uncompressing didn't solve the problem.

(The problem is a folder created by Norton Utilities. It's located in Recycler and named NPROTECT. In it, files are listed but when attempting to delete the folder or individual files ... ... they aren't there. It appears that they HAVE been deleted but for some reason, still are listed. Compression was a shot in the dark.)

I went google again and found the solution:

    rmdir /s \\?\C:\RECYCLER\NPROTECT

    Not that one but another.

This time you only beat me by the second(s) ... :p ... ! (I had to test it prior to posting.)
