Is there any way to completely disable the games explorer folder? I installed Wolfenstein 2009 and the exe from what I see is located in the games directory?

Where is the actual root folder of these games? In Windows XP, it would be as simple as the (Program Files) folder.

    Thank you

    1. Click the Start orb, type in "appwiz.cpl" (not the quotes) and press [Enter].
    2. In the window that comes up, click the "Turn Windows Features on or off" link on the left.
    3. In the window that comes up, remove the checkmark next to "Games" and click OK.

I do not see Wolfenstein listed in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games.

right click the shortcut for Wolfenstein and select "properties ".
From popup, there should be a button that says "open file location ", in the least, you should be able to tell where this game is located by a 'start "> "type in box "

No real need to disable the Game Explorer, just don't use it. Find the executable for any game and create a shortcut for it. Be sure to open the bugger (<Game Explorer) and disable all options.

Additional resource for information. I found the last thread and ALL its links most interesting:
    Racing condition for Game Explorer

I can find the shortcut in the start menu and games explorer, however; it brings me right to the (games explorer) when I choose open file location on the start menu. There is no open file location in the games explorer menu.

I was however able to track the saved game location.
    C:\Users\Jordan\AppData\Local\id Software

It should be that simple but its not. That directory does not exist. :(

    Found a link that says:
the game is installed: usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Wolfenstein\SP or C:\Program Files\Activision\Wolfenstein\SP depending on if you have a 64-bit OS or not.

Make s shortcut on the desktop to the Wolf2.exe. <the executable name for game.

NOTE* If using Steam: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Wolfenstein\SP\Wolf2.exe "

Do a search for wolf2.exe. or wolf*.*

    -----------------------------------------
You do have your folder view settings set so system and hidden files are shown, don't you. "Full path" setting wouldn't hurt either.
