 I have a Sony laptop running Windows Vista. I recently installed Office 2003. Everything works with the exception of Outlook 2003. I keep getting an error message the Business client is not responding & it keeps shutting down. Then when I restart Outlook 2003 there is a message that is was shutdown incorrectly & do I wish to start it in Safe mode. I try Safe Mode & still have the same problems. Is there a patch Microsoft has for this or will I need to purchase Office 2007. Can someone p[lease help me.....

I have uninstalled & reinstalled Office 2003 & Outlook still does not work. All updates have been installed. The error I am getting has to do with the Business contacts. It then closes itself & when I restart Outlook 2003 it tells me that it was shutdown in an unsafe manner and do I wish to start in Safe Mode. When I do that I again get the same message.
there is also a copy of Office 2007, but I am unable to uninstall that because the uninstall program tells me "This computer does not understand the language ". I tried opening the language section of the Office 2007 but I don't get anywhere. Nothing shows up on the screen.

I will try this temporary fix when I get home this evening. I will let you know if it works. I have my fingers crossed that it will... Thank you for your help.

Business contact 2003 that automatically installed with Outlook 2003 was not compatible w/ Vista. I had to use the cd from Busi. 2003 to remove the program, and now Outlook 2003 does work. Now that I want to use Outlook 2003, how can I make it work with my aol account. I tried the program Microsoft has to automatically connect, but it does not work. The reason behind it is because there is also a free copy of Office 2007 that has not been activated yet. Can you help me on this?

    Thanks
    Brian

How to configure an AOL e-mail account in Outlook Express
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;883081

"Until recently, AOL’s e-mail technology was not compatible with Outlook Express. AOL has now made it possible to configure later versions of Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, and Microsoft Entourage to use AOL e-mail accounts. "
