I have a question to which i would be grateful for an answer

i am building myself a PC to the best of my budget and i want the best components possible i have decided to go with intel for this PC
    i have chosen
    Asus sabertooth X58 motherboard
    12 gb ram 1600mhz
    64bit win 7
    300gb velociraptor HDD
    3TB data drive
sli GTX 285 eventually replaced by sli GTX 580
750 w corsair PSU + a few other bits as well

my question is i was thinking about putting a Core i7 990X but i'm not sure about wether paying £769 for it is worth it, is a core i7 970 cpu just as good and will i be getting just as good performance from the 970. i know the 990X is a little faster. what do you all think would be best

thanks for the advice on the cpu my thoughts exactly but i wanted as expert opinion and i appreciate the quick response

I have heard the SSD's are not so hot as they are meant to be as, in you cant defrag them, they dont last as long as a traditional HHD, i did compare the 2 and the velociraptor is faster and cheaper (i have to be realistic on my budget as well)
is there any particular SSD you would recommend?

    Please READ my article!

You don't NEED to defrag an SSD... They are so friggin FAST!

No, a Velkocicrapper is SLOWER than my Intel SSD drive!

I can only recommend the Intel, that's the only drive I have & have tested. It is not the fastest, but the most reliable.

Thanks. Don't know about the star, but I was skeptical a few years ago on SSD drives, but current 2nd generation drives are a perfect choice!
