    Hey all,
    ----------------
I replaced a compaq mb for a customer yesterday. The mother board I replaced the original with is an older one and the and the front panel connector switch is different. Anybody who does work on thses compaq's know that the from panel connectors are a all in one cable instead of a "normal" case with individual connectors for the IDE LED, the power switch, reset, and so on. If anyone has any oideas on how to get the computer to power on by either bypassing the connector or any other way I would be very thankful.

    Jerry

Trace your original connectors and use a small xacto knife to split the connectors (this is made of relatively easy to cut soft palstic) into single or dual lead plugs then follow the pinouts on the replacement motherboard. Should be a piece of cake for an A+ type.
