COMODO Firewall (free) new version available

    A new version (8.1.0) of COMODO Firewall (free) is available for download. A restart is required after installation.

    Thanks for the heads up but I can't find it at Comodo. I still get the one I alreday have (cfw_installer_6106_53.exe).

    Where did you find it?

    Well, I downloaded it anyway and checked the properties. It is a new version and I was mislead by ... :( ... the unchanged name of the installer. The same goes for the Antivirus (free) and the Internet Security (free) installers, the same old name but a new version.

    While checking, I started a computer with CIS (free) version 8.0.0.4344 and after it had updated the database, it offered to install the new version 8.1.0.4426.

    I'm new to Comodo and I'm glad that the updater works without offering extra installations. Making Yahoo the standard search engine could be denied.

    Does a stand alone firewall works better than the Win 7/8 inbuilt one ? Sure it offers more control but more security ?
