    ::confused:

    Hi all, Newbie on board.. Can someone out there help with an XP prob. On every reboot, color res. goes from 32 to 8-bit. I reset it at 32, but it always returns to 8 on reboot.. WHY??? Thx in advance. :confused:

    Welcome to the forum Steve!

    Have you tried uninstalling software for the graphics card through Add/Remove programmes (if any), remove the card from the device manager, reboot and let windows detect the card and load the drivers again? I'd suggest downloading the latest drivers for your particular card as well.

    Make sure your not exceeding the maximum resolution and/or refresh rate your monitor can handle, as Windows may be defaulting to a "safe" resolution on reboot?
    Does it do it at 24 bit or 16 bit?

    8 Bit sure is safe though ;)

    Thanks, Paul. Excellent- sounding advice.. I will give it a try tomorrow, and let you know. Makes sense.
