    Hello all,

I'm scouring the 'Net for some much-needed help... Maybe you guys can help me out? Here's my prob:

I picked up this trojan, Collected.5.L and can't get rid of it... AVG detects it, even though it's really not a virus, but it restores itself. Tried deleting manually; same thing: it pops right back up as c:\documents & settings\username\msdirectx.sys

Ad-Aware SE pro doesn't pick it up. Free online scan [a-squared] doesn't pick it up either, nor do some of the other scanners I've tried.

I'm not really good with 'puters as it is, and this nasty beast really has me at wits end... Any help would sure be appreciated!

    Here's my HJT log:

    Welcome to WindowsBBS Maris! :)

Download "Registry Search Tool" (RegSrch.vbs) from here
    http://www.billsway.com/vbspage/
start it and paste or type in msdirectx.sys, wait for it to complete the search, click ok at the prompt. Then when wordpad opens, copy that back here please.

Copy the contents of the quote box below to a blank notepad. Make sure the formatting remains the same.
Close it, saving to your desktop as:

    File name: msdirectx.bat
    Save As Type: All Files
Double click the file to run it. It will open files.txt and place a copy on the desktop. Please post the contents of that log also.
