    Hello Folks,
I'm a little new to XP and I'm having trouble finding some things. In 98 the codecs could be found under Multimedia and then Devices. I have looked for these and can't find them. I also checked Windows.com and didn't have any luck. I just want to view the codecs that are installed.

    Thanks for any help,
    D. E.

    Control Panel, Sounds, Hardware.

Or, Device Manager, with Sounds and Game Controllers.

Of the 112 codecs on my machine, 50 are in system32, others in backup folders, and most in Program Files with the program that uses them. Registered codecs are considered hardware.

Thanks Abraxas for the reply. I'll check in these areas and see what I find.

You'll get a nice list in System Information, too.

    Thanks again,
After I started poking around in different places I started finding things again.
