    Does anyone know why some movies i download are not working with xp i have the codecs installed i think, is there special ones for xp?:mad:

    What format are the files? Are any messages being generated?

    Hmm

    Mostly AVI files and i get sound but no picture or the movies are seemed overlaped like it will play for 5 min but it should be 1 hour and if i pull the rewind button it will show the other portions but then freeze, like its all there just not playing:confused:

    I have used the divx site and that is what i have downloaded but it says nothing about xp, :mad:

    I used this utilility one time and determined I didn't have the right codecs
    installed
    You may want to give it a try

    WEll i tried this and it tells me i have all the right codecs but still all i get is sound?? no picture and sound is distorted, kuky ahh.

    Well just a guess
    but have you tried to play the movie
    with the divx player or are you using
    wmp
    Also you could try to change your screen
    resolution to 800x600

    Be aware that some people by accident but mostly on purpose (same reasons as a virus writer, vandalism) rename mp3 etc to .avi and mpg.

    If it is all files then you have the problem you are working on now.

    A specfic file, then it may not be a true .avi or .mpg. If a specfic file try to find it from a different source.
