When trying to install Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 through Windows update I get the code 57 error message everytime. I tried uninstalling, rebooting and re-downloading/installing from the site independantly but no go. I tried downloading the .Net Framework Cleanup tool and tried running the app that originally said I needed the fix, no go. So I tried downloading the update via Windows Updater again, no go, still get the error message and cannot install SP1.

All of this started because I was attempting to run an application online to check system requirements for an at home online job I am starting. It wouldn't run the application and gave me the message stating "The WindowsBase Version 3.0.0.0 needs to be installed in the Global Assembly Cache first" ..and that I needed to be the administrator to fix the issue (which I am).

I have searched forums high and low and maybe I didn't get to the right one but can anyone help??!?!?! Please!
