When I'm logged into XP but im on the "click your username" screen it lists the amont of applications running and details any unread emails in my hotmail (in outlook express) are unread. However, it will not report any unread emails that have come into outlook via my POP3.

is there a way to get it to do this?

I use the WINKEY + L function to lock my pc when im away from it, i would like it to say the amount of pop3 unread emails there are the same way it reports hotmail

TweakUI has the options to turn this on or off.

But you mention both Outlook Express and Outlook. Do you run both mail apps?

No, just Outlook Express 6 - sorry about that!
What is this TweakUI and what does it do?

    Can I obtain it free?

TweakUI is a freebie, and does a lot of, well, tweaking! :D

Cool - downloaded the file - will install shortly

what kind of interface does it have? I.E - will it have instructions telling me how to do what i want to, or is it designed for persons much "cleverer" than myself?

Options are written in English. You pick. TweakUI does the work.
