You were good enough to provide me with instructions on the cleanup.bat including your own file which I am using successfully.
One further question. Is there a command that can be added to the cleanup.bat file which would eliminate shortcuts to programs that accumulate on the system over time?

Not sure here. Are you referring to programs you have uninstalled
but the shortcuts to them do not get removed ?
Are these shortcuts on your desktop ?
Have you run regclean ? It should remove redundant shortcuts,
and you can add a command line to run it from a .bat program.
    regards

I'll give you an example...I open up Quicken tax program to do some work on my tax return. Later I am looking up files and I see the Quicken tax icon with the description shortcut. Each time I go into the tax program an icon with description of shortcut is left behind. I have noticed this for other programs as well. I was wondering if there is a command that can be put in cleanup.bat folder which will eliminate those type of shortcuts left behind after visiting a program.

Are you referring to the Documents Menu in the Start menu?

If so, you can remove the Documents Menu from the start menu completely.

Where exactly are these shortcuts yiou are referring to?
