Can you tell me where AVG recommends cleaning out the Update folder from time to time?

To the best of my knowledge, they say nothing on this. I will say that you can delete all the files in that folder except for the CTF file.
After an update is done, do not delete until after a reboot is done.
Otherwise they just keep building up.

I wondered about this too as I discovered the folder with double up files in it but did not know if they are actually needed. I am going to search for my update folder now as I am sure it will need to be cleaned out too. They definitely do not even mention this bit as I have been in contact with them due to problems with their last big update and they just told me one was my update folder!

Thanks for the tip on cleaning this one.

I have tried to find this folder again but have lost it  I knew exactly where it was when I had a problem with AVG but now all I can find is the actual AVG folder, I would be grateful if you would advise where my update folder is (thanks)

I have just found my update folder (v7) ubd7bin - do I just delete everything in there apart from the ctf / log / download info? Keeping the latest update?

Thanks Lonny, I was checking round the tech support on the site for V7 info but could not find it. I think I will contact AVG and ask just to be sure before I upset the folder

Perhaps I should've said I have AVG 6.0 Free version. Would it make any difference?
