Hello everyone. I've had a previous problem with my internet before, but I ran an LSP-Fix and it got everything working last time. Now, my internet isn't working again, and the LSP-Fix didn't help at all. When I restart the computer I get the following error:

The header to the error reads: "Cisco Systems UPN Client" and the error is as follows: "Windows sockets initialization failed. "

After that comes a second error reading: "Cisco Systems UPN Client encountered a problem. Needs to close. "

Again, the LSP-Fix didn't help this time and I don't know what the problem is. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks a lot for all of your help.
    Solomon

Your current problem is probably from the same source as the earlier one only a little worse. Spyware/Adware.

At this point I'd suggest you get, install, update both Ad-aware and Spybot and run both. Let them remove anything they find. Ad-aware first then spybot.

If that doesn't get you going again, your only choice is to remove all your networking services including the network card if you are using broadband and then reload it and set up from the beginning.

If you need specific how-to for the removal, post back with some system details including your manner of internet connection.

If you are interested in reading a little more about exactly what the errors are telling you, try these two links for starters.

UPN - User Principal Name - information

LSPfix information - more detail here on the utility and what to do if it fails than most sites have.
