Hi. I'm trying out Chrome (pretty satisfied up to now, but it's early days). I installed it while logged in to my usual (limited) account. Today I was logged in to my Admin account, and there's no sign of Chrome anywhere - desktop, All Programs, etc. I did a search and found the exe file in the /docs and settings/local settings/application data/ folder for my usual limited account. Created a new desktop link to that exe file while logged in as Admin, but the link doesn't work - just a brief hourglass, then nothing, so it obviously won't let me use the settings from a different account.

How can I make Chrome available to a different account from the one where it is currently installed? Will I have to install it again using the other account? And if so, won't I then be taking up a lot of disk space with duplicate files?

Or can I just move the "Google Chrome" folder from my application data folder to the main Programs folder? (Somehow I suspect that will really be a catastrophe and I don't want to try it before somebody more expert than I am tells me it could work.)

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Yes. If you install software into a limited account, it won't be available for other accounts.

Even if you install in an Administrator account, good software would ask you if you would like to install for the current user only, or if you would like to make the software available for all users.

No, there won't be a lot of duplicate files.

Great, Arie - many thanks. I'll do this next time I'm logged in as Admin.
