Hi, Having difficulty finding something as conveinent as possible to work between a few different PC's to and fro. Seems it is hard to move files any more since they are getting bigger and bigger and a 1.44 diskette is no longer sufficient. I have experimented with several packages without good results and am putting out there what I tried to see if there is another alternative with the same ease. Maybe my problem is one machine is running Win2kpro and the other WinXPPro. Shouldn't matter, I would think.

I have used Ahead Nero (InCD) Bombs out stop errors etc...
Ihave used EZCD Creator (Direct CD) also had problems. Did work for a bit back and forth, then couldn't read the CD.
Ihave a third one whic is from RecordNow called Stomp DLA...also gave me problems...

I have installed and reinstalled. 1st off, out of the 3 which would be the most favorite if there were to be a vote. This I say because I don't believe there is an easier alternative to moving files around hear and there, to and fro. I miss the diskette in my pocket days!!!! I do appreciate your time!! Thanks a million!!You Techs Rule!!!!!!!

    Later on Dudes and Dudettes

Being that my computers are not networked, I had been using a zip disk along with a usb zip drive. That way I could just move the zip from computer to computer. Now I am using a usb pen drive. I never had a file I had to move that was larger than either the zip or pen drive would take.

    Hi,

I should forget InCd in favour of Nero Burn - there have been some compatability problems with InCd and XP. Although these seem to be solved in the latest version, CD-R's are so cheap these days, so why not simply use a multisession CD-R and then chuck it when it's full - holds a lot of floppies :) CD in your pocket days are here :D

I think a pendrive is one of those key fob sized solid state devices that just plugs into a USB port and acts as a mini HD. Size up to about 1 gig, but start around 32 Mb. May be just the job if you don't want the bother of writing to CD.

Cheapest to just burn to CD's without using DirectCD. DirectCD is a wasteful bloated servive anyway and it's just about as fast to launch CreatCD and burn away.

A usb device such as zip or pen would word fine too.

Most efficient would be to set up a wired or wireless network using a router, and this would probably cost less than any usb device.

The flash cards (as used in Digital Caneras) seem als a good
solution. The USB plugin readers are very cheap and you can
access them in Windows explorer as a removeable drive to copy/delete the files to and from a PCs other disks.
I do not know the max. capacity available but I use a card
that is sized about 6 x 6 cm. and has 48 mega capacity.
    regards
