I agree that system details would be useful.

That is not valid chkdsk syntax (command format). Not sure if that is your problem but that would suggest your are trying to run /r on the "r:" drive. I doubt you even have an R drive. The "C" is doing nothing.

If you run chkdsk /? you will see the available switches and the syntax to use them.

If you are on the drive you want to run chkdsk on, you don't need to specify the drive. So if you are on C drive and want run chkdsk on C drive, don't worry about a drive letter.

Also /? shows that /r "implies" /f. That means /r already does everything /f does and more. So the /f is ignored too.

If you are on C drive, all you need is chkdsk /r and you are good to go.

Also understand that chkdsk can take many hours. I let it run overnight. I have even seen it take a couple days on large and corrupt disks. During that time, it may appear to be frozen - just let it run.

Hi Jvas, Welcome to WindowsBBS. :) I see you have Posted in Windows 8 so assume that is your running OS. From your text I also note that English is not your prime language so I hope you will be able to follow any help we give you.;)
Windows 8 differed from previous Windows OS's. The link I will insert will show this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-nz/kb/2854570
This deals with using chkdsk in W7 and W8. When using W8 - the Commands as Bill noted were changed to make it easier and you should always seek answers on the correct procedure to follow before making up commands. You have ended up with a Black screen and your only way out may be to use your W8 DVD to repair and start your computer. Please seek further guidance if you are unfamiliar with the operation.

    As Bill noted
this probably upset your OS and caused the Black screen. Just be aware that you need to use the correct command to suit the OS you are using. ;)
