    Hi all,

I have a server set up as a child domain of a organisation. I would like to ask whether is it possible for new server be set up as a domain controller of this child domain? If so, can anyone shed some light on how to go about.

    Thanks

Unless I'm missing some point here, you just set the new server up, joining it to the child domain, then DCPROMO it to a DC.

    child domain installation problem

    Hi all,

As I was installing a new server ( w2003) as a child domain for an organisation , it prompt 'failed to read LSA policy information....'. May I know what causes this?

    Thanks

edit note: since this post was a continuation of your existing issue, I've merged it rather than having a different topic for it.

As a general rule, you'll have more luck with people trying to help if you respond when someone posts to a thread you've opened.

    HI all,

I have created a child domain under my root domain but in the DNS of my root domain server, I saw my child domain but no _mcdcs, _tcp, _sites and _udp. I only get to see my Name server which is the domain controller of the child domain. Anyone have clues on this? Please advice.

    Thanks
