I have been looking for an upgrade but cant find any. I am running WIN98SE with a Jaton WINCOMM 56K V90 Modem running on Cheyenne Bitware Voice/Fax/data modem. My version of bitware running is v330.08...

Evidently Bitware is no longer being made & supported? I am asking as I have a big problem...

After getting a phone call when the Bitware Receive Manager is on and letting it take a msg, the modem software usually makes the phone line busy! What it does is tie up the phone line. When I pick up to make a call I have no dial tone until I quit and exit bitware. When somebody else calls, they get a busy signal....
what gives and how can I solve this problem? Thanks...

Any suggestions? All I require is modem software capable of doing fax send/receive and voice answering machine...

    Guess what Jaton Tech said?...

It has to be in the modem driver! So I uninstalled it and downloaded an upgrade....but it STILL does the same thing...
    Any other advice?

Sorry to hear that you could not get a fix for your problem you are having. If you want to try a free program to do your fax/phone/data you could try Call Center. I have not used it but heard about it from others. You will find it at http://www.v3fax.com/freecc.htm
