    Hello:
    Please advise
using Win XP,O.E.6 i am trying to figure out how to put an upward arrow or a downward arrow in e-mail to indicate temp,or barometer rising or falling
I found them in Character Map as U2191 & U2193 but can not make them work.
I know how to work ¼(alt 0188) and others including ä (alt 0228)but the ones with 4 digits i can not work.Yes i know that i have to use the Right hand Number pad (not the numbers above qwertyuiop) while holding Alt down.
actually all the ones i use actually are leftover from Win 98 days....

In Character Map highlight the character - click select - click copy...Then in your email right click and select paste.

    Steve: Thanks a bunch
DUH,who would have though it (You did) sometimes good old select, Copy and Paste are the answer.
But someone at MSFT wanted us to use U+2191, and U+2193 for them.etc.
    *****You defeated that*****

    Hello:
Anyone know the way to do it with U2191 or U2193 as mentioned in first post??
The way Steve explained is o.k., but i have to switch from Drafts page to character map and back to drafts, and yesterday Barometer fell in am, was steady mid afternoon then rose in evening, plus if i enter 2 arrows, they go to next line (because Bar. is last entry on line)whereas f for falling anf r for rising will stay on the line selected FR
