Is this account in Outlook a brand new one? If so, do you use the free Hotmail service? If this is the case you won't be able to access Hotmail with Outlook. They've discontinued POP3 service for free accounts. Those that had the accounts setup before this change took place (at least some of those) can still access it but you're out of luck if it's brand new. I use a free account and am still able to access mine using OE but I've had it set up for it for a long time now. I recently received an email from them talking about this. Don't remember all the specifics but this is basically what it stated. I wouldn't doubt that everybody using the free service will lose it eventually. :( I find it odd that MS would do this when Gmail has decided to allow POP3 access. It seems to me they don't usually let anybody get one over on them regardless of costs. This isn't a criticism of them, just an assessment from watching them over the years. :)
