Mouse-over tooltip of my taskbar clock says "February 12, 2004 ".
Is there a way to include the Day of the Week, so that the tooltip
    would show "Thursday, February 12, 2004 ".??

Try TClockEx, a highly configurable systray clock ... looks best if you're using Windows Classic.

    Now isn't that interesting ...

If you select English (Canada) you get "February 12, 2004 ",
but English (USA) gets you "Thursday, February 12, 2004 ".

Special treatment for USA users from Microsoft?? :D

This, by email, from a Canadian who saw the thread, but was unable to post ...

"I was following the discussion about the clock info and found that if you go through the process of: control panel > date, time, language > change the format > regional options and then select English (Canada) and then Customize > Date you are able to add 'dddd ' to the Long date format. This will allow the Day of the week to appear in the tooltip. "
