For one of my desktop folders, I changed the form of the icon OK, but after 'awhile'.... I use/work with different files in other folders, etc...., the icon reverts back to the original form! Any suggestions??...Tx

jammer--No personal experience with this problem, but here is a discussion on another forum

WinXP has a different version of TweakUI than earlier MS OS's. If you do not already have it

Last column on left panel is Repair. Then Rebuild Icons. You probably will lose that special icon, but maybe the next time you install it, it will stick.
P.S. Just thinking outloud. Do you have any other special icons that do this? Perhaps that one is not stable or is corrupt? Something like the problems certain fonts cause in WinXP.
