Resolved changing administrators account?

XP x64.

I gave the Administrator a/c a password. Then I created a second Administrators a/c and gave it the same password *. Now, the log-on screen only shows the second a/c.

If I delete the second a/c, will the log-on screen show the built-in Administrator a/c or I will lose both?

* it's a habit when I use win2k pro.

You should be able to do CTRL-ALT-DEL two time and get the classic log in screen...Then you type in Administator and the Password.

Hi Greeneye. If you want to see the user acccount you created and the built in administrator account on the welcome screen then read this, Show the Administrator account on the Welcome Screen in Windows XP.

Thanks. I corrected the registry and now I have 3 icons in the log-on screen. Doug Knox's software didn't work, it didn't even change the registry. I think maybe it is for 32 bit.

We have added new functionality to the forum that allows you to mark your threads as 'Resolved'.

It is considered courteous to post a reply if you have been able to resolve your problem, or received an answer to your question. If you were given multiple suggestions/solutions, it is also helpful if you would list the solution that worked for you.

Once you have posted those details, when still looking at your thread, near the top of your thread you'll see Thread Tools. Click the down arrow to expand the drop down menu, at the bottom of it you'll see Mark this thread as solved. Click on it to mark your thread as solved.

If later you find that the problem has returned, and you had previously marked your thread as solved, follow the steps above. Instead 'Mark this thread as solved' you will see that in this case Mark this thread as unsolved is listed.
