After gettting the basic LAN working again I ran into other problems.

Pervious to repair I could connect via the Internet to a Friend in Canada to play Links 2003 Golf. This was using the Linksys BEFSR41 Router. I had been told that that I should not have been able to do that.

Last evening I could not connect at all. I bypassed the Router and went direct NIC to Modem and all was well. And things also seemed to go MUCH smoother. BTW. I WON 4 a change after replaying the 18th twice.

Also after making the repairs ( see my other post about LAN problems ) I could not get the shared Priinter to work properly.

So. Today I decided to go for installing my D-Link Router DI-704UP ( Router with USB Print Server ).

    Now the real fun began.

I found that installing the Print Server Software just added a D-Link LPT port ( print server ) to the system. Got that done and then the existing Printer software would not find it. So it was un-install re-install time. Printer install CD would not work. Had to redo and point the install to the Driver folder on the CD. Finally got this PC working. Works great.

Repeated the process on the other two machine and all went well ( after a couple of trys. )

Now I have three machines that are capable of using the Printer without any other being on. ( at least that is the way it is right now ) :)

Now I must ask. Do I FINALLY have things working as they should ? It appears that way to me.

Now all I need to do ( I think ) is to learn now to set up the ports so that Links 2003 can get to Canada.

And how do I find out what ports it is wanting to use ?

From and even happier ( for the time being )
