I have just treated myself to a new desktop PC with Windows XP Home already pre-installed and the Registered User is identified as "User ". This title is also used on the start-up screens of all the Microsoft Office applications that I use.
How do I change the Registered User to show my name?

In control panel choose user accounts and click the name of the account you want to change (user). Then click 'change my name' , type in your name and click 'change...'

Sorry, didn't make myself very clear. I meant the Registered User as shown on the properties page of "My Computer ". I assume this is detailed somewhere in the registry
