I just got a new hp computer which I ordered with two raid drives which I want to configure to type 1. They came set up as type 0. Anyone know how to change the volume type from 0 to 1? Volume has already been created before I got it. I want to run mirrored drives.

    Thanks

In Raid 0 - files are split in half onto each drive... You'd have to start over with a fresh install of the operating system and everything else on the pc.

So what you have to do is enter the RAID setup when the computer boots, and change the RAID configuration. That will lose you all data on the drive(s).

I know. It's really a bummer. HP sent the computer with the wrong raid setup. I'm just going to keep it as a huge drive and switch to drobo for all my computers. Drobo seems to have solved all the problems, but at a price. Since I have five computers in my network, it's probably better than backing up locally individually. I also back up offline, but I need a raid 1 drive on one of the computers because it really can't be down for a drive problem. Thanks for your help.
