HELP!! When I set up my wife's new laptop with a new Microsoft account, I did not realize that it could be an email address she already was using. I set up an Outlook address for her; she does NOT want that and prefers her @cox.net address to be the primary associated with the Microsoft account.

I have searched and searched through all the Microsoft 'help' files trying to find how to make the change. I followed the instructions in "how to manage your account" on adding an alias email and tried using the cox.net address. I got a message that that address is in use and cannot be added. So then:

How can I change the email address associated with the Microsoft account used to set up the laptop, to be a Different, already-established email address.??

    Thanks in Advance!!

My brother has a similar problem where he wants to Delete an email address (MS account) and he found it impossible to do.
My advice to him was to contact MS and seek online help from those who designed and set it up.
The last I heard from him he got caught up trying to identify Captcha codes. He has glaucoma and this got him stumped!

Thanks for the link Arie. I'll check and see if my bro has had any luck in his quest to remove an Alias.
