I've searched a good bit for how to change the cursor highlight color in Vista when you hover (but not click) the cursor over items. Such as in Explorer (not Internet Explorer), when you run the cursor down a file list before clicking.

Can't see that ANY of the color settings in the Appearance Settings > Advanced screen affect this color. The color scheme in Vista was originally Windows Aero - tried different colors on just about every item (3D objects, Active Title Bar, etc.). Made no difference.

Changed theme to Vista Basic & retried different colors. Even though I chose a dark blue, in Explorer & other screens, the hover color and often the selected item color are still a very pale bluish (almost undetectable). The items on main toolbar menus do turn a different color.

I can't even determine how this particular color is controlled in XP, although it's dark enough, so I just didn't bother.

    Thanks.
