Change 800Duron to 2000XP CPU

If i change a 800Duron to a 2000XP cpu how does this affect things like Direct X and games ?. Do i need to reinstall these or will ?

 

If you are changing only the processor, you will not have to reinstall anything. However, if you are changing the main board and the processor, what you will have to reinstall will depend partly on the OS.

If Windows 2000, NT or XP, you might have to reinstall absolutuely everything, starting with the OS. With the proper selections, you can do this without losing any user-created and saved data. If Windows 98, you may get by reinstalling just the main board drivers and any other associated drivers (like for on-board peripherals).
