    Every time i try to enter my cdrw , i get the message devise not ready, this normally boots up on start up, but even switching it off and booting alone does not work. My systems recognises it's there but not any access. any help here, thanks peter.

    Use a Windows 9x boot disk and see if you have access in DOS mode. If not, you have a hardware problem.
