cdrom won't eject after a write

I have a compaq generic cd writer. It writes and acts normal until I try to eject the disk. No matter what I do it still won't open the drive door. I try My computer click on cdrom drive and click eject. I also try to press the open button on the drive itself. Any ideas what may be causing this problem. The DVD rom drive works fine.

In case you haven't come a cross it before, packet writers for CDRW disks like Nero's InCD will only eject through the program. Right-click on the icon in the system tray, there will be an eject option.
