I am interested in purchasing a CD writer and need help on what these numbers mean. 32x10x40, 32x12x40, 24x10x40. What do these numbers mean and what is the difference in 32 and 24? Any recommendations as to a particular brand and its performance? I am using W98, IE6.0. Thanks Claire

The numbers have to do with how fast the CD writer reads and writes to a CD. The first number is for wirte speed. The next is rewrite speed and the last is the read speed.

    Thanks Much!

At least this way I know what the salesperson is talking about.
Now I won't have to use my neighbor's cd-writer. Claire
