When I first installed my XP, everytime I inserted a cd in cd drive or began to transfer pictures from my camera, I got a dialogue asking me what I wanted to do with the files. It was annoying so I clicked don't ask me again. I did not realise that my wife loved this dialogue--so, my question is, how do I get it back and make my wife happy?

Open My Computer, right click on the CD drive, left click on Properties, go to the AutoPlay tab.

For each entry in the drop down list, make sure "Prompt me each time to choose an action" box at the bottom of that window is checked. Once you've got them all set, click OK and the annoying "Wanna' open this or what?" dialog box will pop up every time a CD is put in the CD drive. ;)

Okay thanks, I've got that working again--but there doesn't seem to be the same option for my camera.
