I've got a Yamaha CDR4416S that apparently doesn't want to be supported anymore, seeing as I wrote them over 2 wks ago with no response yet. I'm using the ABSOLUTE latest of EZ-CD Creator, which does support this unit, and for some reason the CD-RW just dissappears from Explorer for no reason at all. I really don't mean to break any forum rules here, I'm just in a quandry as to where to go for ANY support. Rebooting doesn't do the trick. Unplugging the unit, and rebooting works, but obviously that ain't the solution.

    Thanks,

    Desperate George

Not breaking any rules I'm aware of. But you might get better response from Hardware than from the Win2K section so I'm moving the thread. For clarification - please specify your OS and SP level.

    Hi gplea

My search revealed that it is a SCSI CD burner (not much else). Had a look around Yamaha, but didn't see the electronics (drums were nice though).
There is a firmware update for that model:
    http://www.cd-writer.com/drivers/firmware.html

The problem may be in your SCSI controller, but troubleshooting SCSI controllers is out of my league.

Do you have the manual? I'd try reversing it's installation and installing it from scratch (maybe the same for the SCSI controller).

Maybe some SCSI gurus can help out??

PS: Is CDR4416s the "exact" model, eg: cdw4416s (saw some listings under this), cdr-4416s, cdr 4416s, etc.

    Luck
    Matt
