I wanted to move all the files in a subdirectory onto a cd-rw . I hit ctrl-a, told it to move to cd, clicked on burn to cd, and the little dialog box opened showing all the files moving the way it always does. There was a single file already on the disc, but there was plenty of room, and after all, it's supposed to be writeable, that was the whole point of buying it. But alas, the 'moved' files are NOT on the cd, and they aren't on the subdirectory hard drive either. There is no bubble saying I still have files to move to the CD. There was no error message. Silly me, I would think if there was a problem it would abort or give an error message or both. Is there anyway to find these files in a temp directory somewhere? Thx.

    Solved

The solution is to already have Google Desktop on your hard drive, keeping back up copies in a cache buried somewhere, but from which you can retrieve everything.
